Facilities for people with a disability
People with a disability can visit the Kościuszko Mound in Krakow based on discount tickets that may be purchased after presenting proof of disability document.
Kosciuszko Mound availability for people with a disability increases yearly. Currently almost the whole of the Mound is adapted to their needs including those on wheelchairs. Accessible entrances, ramps and elevators – those and many more facilities were developed to assist visitors with disabilities of movement.
After arriving at the car park by the Kościuszko Mound, head to the ticket office located at the right side of the car park. This is where the main entrance to Mound is located, leading trough the permanent exhibition “Kosciuszko – a hero for our times”. Exhibition is fully adapted to requirements of people with disabilities.
To get from the exhibition to the observation deck placed next to the Kosciuszko Mound you can use the lift. The road to the top is easy accessible without thresholds, stairs and other obstacles that could restrict access, however is quite steep.
Fully disabled friendly are Bastion V and Curtain I-V (T.Kosciuszko Conference and Exhibition Center – a pavilion for temporary exhibitions). People with a disability will find there an elevator, elevating platform and accessible toilets. Access is limited – due to located in the historic building – to the Wax Figure Exhibit.
It is worth to mention that you can reach the Kosciuszko Mound by one of two available bus lines: 100 and 101. Bus #100 departs from Salwator and bus #101 from Grunwaldzkie traffic circle. Vehicles equipped with special elevation ramps are fully accessible for people with a disability. In case of a need to transport larger group of people on wheelchairs please inform MPK in Cracow for them to arrange a special vehicle for such a ride.
